What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

And I just don't get most cases of short-story->full-length-film....

I read somewhere, I forget who it was, that a short story was the best thing to adapt a movie from. I guess because it's long enough to provide the idea and characters but short enough that you don't have to adhere to it slavishly. Memento was based on a short story. It may have been a Christopher Nolan interview, actually.

It's weird how everything in Hollywood seems so damn incestuous--Elijah Wood might be playing Iggy Pop, and his former costar (Liv Tyler) grew up thinking that Iggy was her father. Just struck me as strange how that connects.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I can kinda' see that. But in this case, most all the movie is not in the story. (I'm gonna guess that at least 75% of the movie was not based on the story.) It really is a simple story that could be turned into 10 or 15 minutes of film.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

and his former costar (Liv Tyler) grew up thinking that Iggy was her father.

No, no. She thought Todd Rundgren was her father. A not unlikely possibility considering her Mom was living with Todd all through her early childhood. Her Mom, Bebe Buell, was also lovers with Elvis Costello during his Armed Forces album and several of EC's songs are about her.

Also, there's no fuckin' way Elijah's going to be Iggy Pop. No. Way.

That's right. I got my musicians confused (and so did her mom, it appears!).

Bebe Buell's probably the most famous groupie of all. Well, okay, maybe Pamela Des Barres.

I'm With The Band is a great read, btw.

Was she married to Michael Des Barres (whom I only know from To Sir, With Love)?

I think Gloria Plaster Caster would edge her out too.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Yep, she used to be married to Michael Des Barres.

AKA Murdoc on MacGyver.

Iggy Pop should be in a movie with Seth Green. It would rock.
