Buffista Movies 4: Straight to Video

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Kathy, what is this from?

One of the Marx Brothers films (A Night at the Opera?)--the first line is Margaret Dumont, and the respondent is, of course, Groucho.

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

You're not so bad... you just dress bad.

I can't even.

The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long, and you have burned so very very brightly, Roy. Revel in your time!

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Ah, perfect! Yes, I knew Hawkeye is big into the Groucho and that MASH frequently borrowed from it. That's why I wanted to see. Still, how weird is it that Kathy posted that quote a few seconds before I heard a tribute to it on the show?

Up with the sun

What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?
