Anya: We should drop a piano on her. It always works for that creepy cartoon rabbit when he's running from that nice man with the speech impediment. Giles: Yes, or perhaps we could paint a convincing fake tunnel on the side of a mountain.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Rent her the trifecta of American Psycho, Velvet Goldmine, and Mary, Mother of Jesus if you want to see her head explode.

And then add EMPIRE OF THE SUN as a chaser.

Thrive to spite them

Oh god, I can just see Mom freaking me out by liking Velvet Goldmine.

At one point after Empire of the Sun came out on video she went to rent it because it was recommended by a friend and ended up renting The Last Emporer by mistake.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

A friend of mine once recommended Au revoir les enfants to her conservative parents - they rented La cage aux folles by mistake....

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Finally saw Bleu last night. So wistful and dark and richly visual and just plain wonderful. I have meaning to see it for 12 freaking years, since everything I heard about it made it seem the kind of film I would love, and, yep, I sure did.

Juliette Binoche rooools.

Always Anti-fascist!

I think they are both good movies just in REALLY different ways.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

I love Bleu, but I love Rouge just a smidgeon more. The whole trilogy is great though.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

I have not seen any of the trilogy. I am a bad film fan.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I have not seen any of the trilogy. I am a bad film fan.

Me neither. (I don't know if it's better or worse that I'm pretty sure we own it, I just haven't watched them yet. Or maybe we don't. I can't remember.)

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I can't watch Blue without obsessing over Binoche's haircut. It's like the perfect haircut!
