Buffista Movies 4: Straight to Video

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Yikes!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

This X movie is going to suck rocks.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

A guy I know auditioned for that role -- I have no idea how the audition went, but physically? Freaking perfect. I can't imagine how Ben could act well enough to make up for not looking purely beautiful.

The last thing I heard about X3 that didn't make me sad was the casting of Kelsey as Beast. But I think that's way not enough. And way too long ago.

Bears repeating.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Drac. vs. Hitler:

Not surprisingly, no stars are connected to the project as yet.

eta: Although it'd be worth it if Dracula called Hitler "strange and off-putting."

The only way it works is if Mel Brooks plays Hitler.

Carl Reiner as Dracula!

Who are you casting as Dracula, DX?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Speaking of Dracula, last weekend I saw the late 70's Dracula with Frank Langella as the Count and Laurence Olivier as Van Helsing. [link]

It was pretty cheese-tastic, but fun.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

The last thing I heard about X3 that didn't make me sad was the casting of Kelsey as Beast.

Kelsey who? I dismember.
