What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I had a funny line about Memento, but I forgot it.

Heh. I love Memento bunches. One of my favorites.

When I first saw it, I had no idea how it could end, and I was preparing myself to be disappointed by the ending. And then, it was so simple and beautiful and sad and hopeful; I thought it was perfect, and all the more so for being unexpected.

I think I'm with Kate here. It was just so...right.

Jim Carrey was very un-Jim-Carrey like throughout the vast, vast majority of Eternal Sunshine. There were a couple of scenes where he became wacky, but they were perfect for those moments. Hard to explain without being spoilery, though.

I agree 100% that he was very un-Jim-Carrey-like in Eternal Sunshine, but it *still* distracted me, because then all I could think was "Look! He's NOT being Jim Carrey! Look how he's Acting!"

I think I'm just predisposed to dislike him, no matter what. Which is unfair, and I recognize that, but he's my movie kryptonite.

Always Anti-fascist!

Heh. Lethem's Bramble...will have to share with my friend, Lethem pimp and Buffy fan. I love him for "Fortress of Solitude" most especially cause he created a funk band named the "Subtle Distinctions".

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

LiT is a movie that hit me so hard I can hardly bear to hear people say anything bad about it.

Jess and Sean and Tep and JohnSweden are all me. Whodathunk?

Though ita's reaction to LiT was almost my exact reaction to ESotSM.

I can't think of any movie I've grown into, but I can think of a lot I think I've grown away from. (Maybe grown out of, who knows.) Like, I fear, everything Hal Hartley ever made. I went through a major, major Hartley period. I don't know why the love is now gone. Oh, and Sirens wasn't as nifty last time, despite the continued delight that is Naked Portia De Rossi.

Ah, me too. With a healthy dose of "Look! Jim Carrey is Acting! Watch how he Acts for us all! Act, Jim, Act!"

Snerf. That, too.

There was also a side of, "Damn, Kate. You look like Jessica!" which distracted me.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

LiT just leaves me feeling that I Don't Get It. And that that's my fault and not the movie's, because Oscar and other people like it a whole lot and I just need to concentrate more, or something. But that happens to me a lot.

Y'know that scene in Velvet Goldmine where Arthur is looking at the TV, and pictures himself saying, "That's me! That's me, ma!" as he watches the boys go all boy on boy?

That's my reaction to LiT.

As opposed to my reaction to VG, which is more along the lines of, "Yum." and, "More, please."

I mean, it's pretty much THE All Naked All Gay musical with glitter.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I mean, it's pretty much THE All Naked All Gay musical with glitter.

Too bad Ewan and Christian and Jonathan were all so damned ugly and undesirable.
