I saw this movie. It starred Chow Yun-Fat and a lot of Hong Kong neon. Okay, the baby in question would have lost its hearing from all the gunfire going on right near its head, except that it was so obviously a salami wrapped up in baby blankets.
I would be happier with Clive if he would make more movies that don't sound like video games. Period clothing is not required, although a nice natty suit never did anybody wrong.

That really doesn't do it justice. To see it in its maximum disturbance, you have to see it silk-screened on a T-shirt, like the one my friend wears every effin' week. The baby is just this pale blob amidst Chow Yun Fat, leather, and fire. Very odd.

I have, but it's anime, and so I can glaze over it. It's like I whitefont it right out. The poster for Hard Boiled, though, it has one of the prettiest men ever, so I have to look, and then I get weirded out again.
Was Dana Elcar's death already mentioned here? Sad news--I have fond memories of him in MacGyver, of course, but also loved him as FBI Agent Polk in The Sting.

Dana Elcar was working at Arena Stage when I was an intern there. I was 16 and he was so kind to me. At the time, I was pleased that he took me seriously and never treated me like a kid, but I realize now he was looking out for my feelings and putting up with a lot more chatting from a passionate and opinionated drama-crazy teenager than he needed to and I am doubly grateful.
From the library, I have returned with The Maltese Falcon and Monsoon Wedding.
