Buffista Movies 4: Straight to Video

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

::thinks maybe juliana hasn't seen a lot of anime demon porn posters::

I have, but it's anime, and so I can glaze over it. It's like I whitefont it right out. The poster for Hard Boiled, though, it has one of the prettiest men ever, so I have to look, and then I get weirded out again.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Was Dana Elcar's death already mentioned here? Sad news--I have fond memories of him in MacGyver, of course, but also loved him as FBI Agent Polk in The Sting.

"Sit down and shut up, will ya? Try not to live up to all my expectations."

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Dana Elcar was working at Arena Stage when I was an intern there. I was 16 and he was so kind to me. At the time, I was pleased that he took me seriously and never treated me like a kid, but I realize now he was looking out for my feelings and putting up with a lot more chatting from a passionate and opinionated drama-crazy teenager than he needed to and I am doubly grateful.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

From the library, I have returned with The Maltese Falcon and Monsoon Wedding.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I have fond memories of him in MacGyver, of course, but also loved him as FBI Agent Polk in The Sting.

Also as Colonel Lard in Baa, Baa, Black Sheep.

Hey. New board.

Ra's Al Ghul is the one man to ever figure out that Bruce Wayne was Batman.

Bane? Does Knightfall not count as canon? I'm kind of out of the loop.

Also, Tim? For some reason I thought he figured it out, too, though that may be merely hearsay.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

He figured it out in Tim Drake: Boy Stalker.

I'm not sure what the hell is going on in there, but it looks kinda cool.
