The Adventures of Shark Boy & Lava Girl in 3-D - could be good, could be stupid

It made me wonder -- is it a straw breaking his back, or does he think this'll come out worse than his other stuff that was adapted?

I'm thinking more straw. Though he probably has no faith in anybody doing film adaptations of his work at this point. (Terry Gilliam should've done Watchmen as an HBO miniseries, I say.)

But I'm thinking V for Vendetta might be the work closest to his heart.

Worth watching?

Can't say, I haven't seen it yet. Stephanie Romanov was enthused, and Williams doesn't play a retarded janitor, so it's probably not the worst movie out there.

I saw RotS today. I thought Ewan and Ian McDiarmid aquitted themselves well, and Frank Oz did his usual voice work with Yoda. The rest might as well have used cardboard cut-outs of the actors.

Also, Palpatine was in desperate need of the Evil Overlord Handbook. When pulling an ambush on your enemies, you do not assign the task of assassinating the wisest, most powerful, and most prescient of their number to a pair of candy-ass robots. You have said robots give a locator signal that allows your orbiting star destroyers to bombard his exact position with energy weapons strong enough to rupture the planet's crust.

I wish he'd talked a little about the fact that HK filmmaking was under no such requirements which is exactly why Jackie Chan and Michelle Yeoh could do their own stunts.
