What about Greta Garbo in Camille? That's one gorjuss consumptive.
This.
If you want a REALLY creepy kid, try watching the original Bad Seed.
And this. Which, incidentally, pre-dates Star Trek.
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Serial covering x-post.
I remember when the one came out for my freshman class, and was really freaking irritated by it. "Do they think none of us read? Or think?" So, on behalf of the class of 2009 (yikes) .... bah.
LJ, those lists are done by Beloit (WI) College, so older folks can talk to freshmen.
This says something about Beloit. But even though I was born there, I won't say it.
We watched In Good Company this past weekend. I really liked Topher Grace in it. I liked that they focused on the relationship between him and Dennis Quaid as opposed to making it all about Scarlett (which I expected from the trailers).
I just shut off Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason after about 15 minutes. Even sexy Colin Firth couldn't salvage that one for me.
I'm so sad that I'm mostly a DVD watcher now rather than a theater goer.
I recommend a doc I saw over the weekend on IFC about "Z Channel"-- a sort of precursor to IFC. In any case, it's got a crazy number of film clips from obscure classics and a truly devastating ending (if you know nothing about the subject matter). Really very interesting and very good.

Oh yeah. I knew the ending and it still was a jolt given what some of the people were discussing about how things were just prior to it. A real shame. And DAMN, did they show some nifty stuff. Thank god for IFC.
I want to get the full DVD so I can have the extended remix dance sequence of "Tango de Roxanne". Guh.
I think I'm the only person who's seen Moulin Rouge who hates that scene.
No, you really aren't. I liked the movie enough to by the dvd (at least when it was on sale), but I abhor that scene.
The entire Caltech campus is now off to see Star Wars (apparently, they voted for it over H2G2 65% to 35% for free tickets. Sometimes I hate this place.) I briefly considered going because I'm drunk enough to have a good time making fun of the movie loudly, but decided against it after discouragement from my housemates, who are among the most offensive people here.
So now I'm bored.
I wish I felt less anger towards Lucas.
I love creepy kids. Cuz they're creepy.
Last Saturday's new Doctor Who had a spectacularly creepy kid. Winsome and blond. In a gas mask.
Stolen from Fametracker:
Two great love stories are currently captivating the nation: the doomed romance of Jedi turncoat Anakin Skywalker and his forbidden bride, Padmé Amidala, and the surprise wedding of country singer Kenny Chesney to movie star Renée Zellweger, whom he'd wooed in part by writing a song titled "You Had Me From Hello."
We at Fametracker wondered if we couldn't combine these two love stories into one super-mega-universal romance. The answer: yes, of course we can. And from that alternate universe of astral love, we bring you this artifact. Ready the Kleenex you should.
