Buffista Movies 4: Straight to Video

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Not when they (and we're not talking about bright people) start trying to relate current politics with those that happened a THOUSAND FUCKING YEARS AGO.

"When I look at people that I would like to feel have been a mentor or an inspiring kind of archetype of what I'd love to see my career eventually be mentioned as a footnote for in the same paragraph, it would be, like, Bowie." ~Trent Reznor

Sure. Relating current politics with those that happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Seriously, has anyone read the sociopolitical debate about Episode II-III? It's a hoot.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I read a rumour that Jabba the Hutt eats Jar Jar. Tell me it's true.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Leaving the levity behind, I don't mind, but others might object.

Personally, I'll probably see it sometime in July, after the crowds have died down. Same strategy that helped me enjoy AotC as much as I did.
