Er...yes. But I'm pretty sure this is the last time. In theatres.

I want a "Journey of the Sorcerer" ringtone. I found one online that someone made, but to install it I'd need a data cable for my phone, and I can't see myself essentially spending $25 on a single ringtone. So I shall wait until someone more official makes one.

I only ask because it makes me deliriously happy that it's still making you deliriously happy after five viewings.

I shall have to try and see it again at least once more in theaters.

I just came back from Kingdom of Heaven. Orlando is hella pretty, but he just doesn't have the gravitas to carry something like what this picture wants to be. I mean, he's not terrible or anything, but just... inoffensive and blank. It's an enjoyable historical epic in its way, but too earnest for its own good, with some fine secondary performances (I particularly liked David Thewlis' turn as a Hospitaler) and kick-ass production values. The battle scenes are well-done--a bit LotR-y in bits, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I really liked Eva Green as the princess--thought she brought interesting layers to a rather thinly-written character. And of course, it's always good to see Alexander Siddig on big screen.

I found KoH to be lacking explanation in some parts. Like I needed to have studied The Crusades before watching. Didn't quite understand or believe some of the motivations.

Other than that, Vonnie K is me.

Yesterday I went to two different stores looking for Yarn Marvin, but there were none to be found. (Though the guy at Suncoast told me he'd seen them at their Queens location, I don't know if I'm motivated enough to go to Queens for a doll.)

I also saw the trailer for The Island on the big screen for the first time today, and oh my how I am ashamed to be looking forward to a Michael Bay movie. It's just mean of them to follow up shots of multiple wet Ewan MacGregors with "From the director of Pearl Harbor and Armageddon..." I feel dirty.

My primary thought, after KoH, was "Everything Orlando needed to know to play this part, he learned from Viggo Mortensen". We had a whole series of jokes on the theme.

Saw Hitchhiker's today. Meh. The pacing didn't work for me. The clever lines and the funny lines kept getting stepped on. I chuckled a couple of times, but I wasn't rolling on the floor the way I did when I listened to the radio show.

I would have predicted a larger second week dropoff for Hitchhiker's myself:

I wondered if Ed Norton was the King of Jerusalem -- he is listed in the IMDB but with a name, not a title.

I also had a question about beheading of suicides -- did they really do that? Is it because it is against the law to commit suicide? Naturally, I got vampire prevention vibes off of that but I get that probably wasn't the reason.
