Wow--Ebert gave Sin City four stars. Of course, this is the man who called Dark City the best film of its year, too (I liked that film, just not that much).
'Shells'
Buffista Movies 4: Straight to Video
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Who knew?
sheepishly raises hand...
Did I forget to mention that when I found out about it last April?
The plot ante has been upped with Rucka taking over. If you count The Hiketeia, he's managed three interesting plotlines (and he's only had two plotlines in the regular run, so his batting average is pretty freaking good.)
Yeah, I've liked 90s and later WW pretty well. But she's been more of a symbol than a character for much of her career.

Mystery movie:
Early to mid 80's. Family is trying to escape East Germany, they do so in a hot air balloon.
I saw this in the theater with my dad (whose taste in movies can be a bit obscure) and I don't remember what it was called.
Night Crossing, by Disney?
Thank you, ita! That's exactly it.
I love the internets. Good for porn, movies you can't remember, and really bad jokes.
Wow. I didn't know they were coming out with a new Final Fantasy Movie, this one based on the actual FFVII video game. It looks like it's going to set the bar for CG again, just like the last FF movie did. Hopefully it will actually contain a plot, too.
Maybe a stupid question, but Stephanie Romanov as WW?
Too old.
