Spike: At least give me Wesley's office since he's gone. Angel: He's not gone. He's on a leave of absence. Spike: Yeah, right. Boo-hoo. Thought he killed his bloody father. Try staking your mother when she's coming on to you! Harmony: Well…that explains a lot.

'Destiny'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Oooh, I agree with P-C.

I disliked a lot of Angel S5, but that was a hell of a series finale!

Also, I NEED THOSE POTATOES, DAVID!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I am completely unfamiliar with masked ethnic wrestlers. And if I was, by some odd quirk of fate, familiar with them, I would be completely uninterested in anything having to do with them. So that ep was a complete cipher for me. Sort of like a dialog between Miss Othmar and Snoopy, but not as interesting.

Smile Time, however? Gold. Nay, platinum. As was the Avengers.

ETA: and much as I love cheesy goodness, I am forbidden potatoes, so I don't see that opinon changing through your bribe.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Also, I NEED THOSE POTATOES, DAVID!

Mmmm, I'm eating them now. The herbs were a good choice.

I'm watching Buffy from the beginning with H, who's never seen it before. After years of mockery, now he's getting into it. And I'm really loving it. There are a few anachronisms: cell phones, computer lab, but basically the storylines and issues stand up well even today. He's picking up on phrases the kids and I have used, incorporated into vernacular--"Oh, THAT's where that came from!"

Yeah. Joss is god.

brillig

I was kind of baffled by the prevalence of "Maybe this is racist, I don't know what to think" in the comments. Have they become accustomed to thinking that any portrayal of another culture is going to be questionable?

I adored the episode, the one left behind after the heroes go on, discovering he's still as much a hero even though he survived.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I love Numero Cinco, Smile Time, AND potatoes au gratin! Trifecta FTW!

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Im not sure how Número Cinco can be considered racist. Just because the characters were Latino?
