Either that or he's...slow. Because I think he'd start to guess they aren't riding off into the sunset or anything. Just like Wallace from the Wire isn't saved because he's super-secret Nigerian royalty(Even though I wished really hard, since it was compared to Dickens...)
Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!
Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.
He does this to himself on purpose, doesn't he?
I think it must be for dramatic effect for his audience.
I am looking forward to a shrieked Giles.
Oh yes. I'm fully expecting "I'd like to test that theory." to get an unbelievable scream of joy.
And monstrously grateful sobbings to the crayon speech.

I did it. I was unspoiled for S6 (I don't remember why I decided to be unspoiled, since I was super-spoiled for the other seasons), and I just yelled "GILES!!!!!" at the top of my lungs.
Damn fine entrance.

yep, me too. (us, actually, I think that I was watching with people)
Damn fine entrance.
Top 5. Not just Buffy, but ever.
I don't remember whether I yelled or what I yelled, but I can vividly recall watching that moment for the first time in my dorm room.

Not sure anything beats Senor Chang in "Modern Warfare." EVER.
That was a great entrance, yes.

I remember watching it on my friend Chip's massive plasma TV when I visited him after the Chicago F2F. He had never seen Buffy before but gamely watched it with me, and I had to explain why I just yelled, "Giles!"
It's fun reading that thread because it's about 14 people in a row posing, "GILES!!1!"
I watched that episode with the Boston-area Buffistas -- the first time I'd met most of them -- and we ALL yelled "GILES!!!!!!" Still one of my favorite experiences of communal fannish glee.
