More Mark: It occurred to me, while talking about these episodes with my wife, that the last line of the "Angel" finale -- "There's no place like ... Willow?" -- is the best knife twist in the history of television. Just that shot of Allyson Hannigan, silent and devastated, brought all the pain of the Buffy finale we had just begun to get over back again.

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!
Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.
(The last line is actually "It's Buffy." But yes. There was much cursing of Joss Whedon for exactly that reason.)
Mark's viewing of The Gift is up. It's pretty much what you'd expect.
I am evil. I've begun looking forward to Mark's pain.
I just have to bring this bit over from enigmaticagentscully's review because it is wonderful and will be appreciated:
The SHRIEK that came out of my mouth when Xander proposed to Anya was nothing even close to human. It was like...imagine a Ringwraith. Then imagine someone has fed that Ringwraith a ton of energy drinks so it’s really hyped up on sugar. Then imagine it’s sucked up a bunch of helium from a balloon so it’s voice is really high pitched. Then imagine someone told that Ringwraith that it’s favourite show Firefly has been renewed for a second season.
That is the sound I made.
oh dear.
the "wedding" episode is going to hurt.
Also season four of Angel, given how much he loves Cordelia.
I just discovered a funny casting coincidence. The same actress played Lysette, the car-obsessed girl Xander picks up in "The Zeppo," and Marelda, Cordelia's serving wench in "There's No Place in Plrtz Glrb."
We've decided that Lysette ended up in L.A. and Fred's professor sent her to Pylea.
Also season four of Angel, given how much he loves Cordelia.
I loved Cordelia and Season 4 was a welcome relief from Season 3. Hey, she may have been the unwitting host for a larval god that was turning her evil, but at least she had some snark and a working brain cell or two.
There are a lot of season six fans in the Mark Watches comments. This should be interesting. I did like it better on a rewatch.
As for Mark's predictions...
There will be an episode devoted to Xander and Anya’s glorious wedding!
Oh dear.
