Mmm, Hawkeye Penn...
That's one of the pleasures of rewatching, picking up some of the cameos. Recent observation: in
Where the Wild things Are,
the abusive children's home director is Mrs Landingham.
Apparently too, there are five actors who appeared on Buffy, Angel and Firefly. (One of them being the actor who played D'Hoffryn, who was also the creepy doctor stalker in
I Fall to Pieces
and captained an Alliance ship in Serenity).

I thought it was only three
Per imdb, there are five: Bob Fimiani, Carlos Jacott, Jeff Ricketts, Andy Umberger and Jonathan M. Woodward.
hmm. I guess it's time for another rewatch.
Huh. Gotta say, "Pangs" wnet better for Mark than expected. He acknowledges the wrognness (and really, I think we all admit there's wrongness) but it doesn't blind him to the great in that episode.
I've only caught a couple of the "Whedon hat tricks" (not to be confused with "pointy hat tricks.") But since Lea and I've started mainlining "How I Met Your Mother," (we're into season six) we can't help but notice the number of "Buffy" actors who've appeared on the show: Alyson Hannigan, of course, along with Harry Groener, Alexis Denisof and Tom Lenk. Maybe a few others I'm not remembering. (And of course, Neil Patrick Harris gets an honroable for "Doctor Horrible.")
Who did Tom Lenk play?
He worked in a coffee shop.
Maybe a few others I'm not remembering.
Amy Acker...
Also, a lot of Freaks and Geeks actors including Martin Starr.
if we're including Whedonverse, Morena Baccarin was in an ep too.

I was happy to see that he did this. Although, the commenters nsm.
Anyway, this was a really weird episode. I’m not sure if it was trying to be funny, or really serious, or some strange combination of both?
This is one of the Mark Reads comment. Isn't nearly every episode of Buffy some weird combination of both. To me that is one of the best things about Buffy.
I'm guessing IWRY is going to break Mark into teeny tiny pieces.
