Inara: I think she looks adorable. Mal: Yeah, but I never said it.

'Shindig'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Admittedly, some of this was due to people like Charisma needing to go into rehab so they parked her in a Higher Plane.

Huh, I didn't know that.

But the whole Jasmine arc, especially with Connor's role in the group was so fucked up. I mean, I could've been okay with some Not Logic Making, but I think they missed the emotional beats and narrative payoffs.

I love that whole season because it's a roller coaster ride of craziness and cliffhangers.

I didn't like the Cordy/Angel romance nor the Cordy/Connor.

I wasn't a big fan either.

Wes/Lilah. They should've stuck to evil noir romance and slash.

Wes and Lilah were great, though.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I was never as attached to Angel as I was to Buffy, particularly after they removed Cordelia's personality. I will also enter in evidence the phrase "pancake kisses." I thought Angel generally did better with monster of the week episodes.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Huh, I didn't know that.

They were going to write her out of the show if she didn't get her shit together. That's why there was a cliffhanger of her disappearing.

Also Xander's role in later seasons was diminished because of Nick's alcoholism.

It's also been long rumored that NB and SMG had a fling S1 because they didn't think the show was going to get picked up. But SMG was pretty loyal to him, and in S7 she was actively pitching for more participation for Xander. Originally, they had planned to have Caleb kill Xander and then NB would play the First Evil through the end of the series.

brillig

Ooo, First Evil Xander, haunting everyone and reminding them of all they times they dismissed him . . .

Though Xander in Africa is pretty sweet as well.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I am incredibly bitter over the Jasmine shit. I paused Mark Watches for awhile, but I may start reading him again when he gets to Jasmine. I am sure he will HATE it.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I had somehow managed to completely block the very existence of Cordy/Connor from my mind. Bleh.

Trust my rage

Cordy/Connor was so creepy and weird. She cared for him as a baby!

Art Crawl!!!

Cordy/Connor was just so wrong.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I cheered at Cordy/Connor, because it was a wrongness I could stomach and handily derailed the one (Cordy/Angel) that made the world fade to red whenever I saw it on my screen.

Ha, from today's LOTR review:

Also, the app I use for writing this is telling me that any sentences written in all caps are "grammatically incorrect." Look, I will punch your face, you fucking smarmy asshole. I TYPE SENTENCES HOWEVER I DAMN WELL PLEASE, and I will continue to do so while ignoring your passive-aggressive green lines.
