I can beat up demons until the cows come home, and then I can beat up the cows.

Buffy ,'Dirty Girls'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Oh, no. That's a cheat. Pick!

Because books.

Oh no, what le nubian said. ALL OF THEM.

Although if you're going to be really mean and make me choose, probably S2/Prisoner of Azkaban. ::sobs::

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

billytea - Oh hooray! I think I love that one the most. (Although I still have a couple in my in-progress pile, to be fair.) And the narrative style is a big part of that. I can't find it at the moment but there was a nice interview with Miles talking about his desire to be more experimental.

I like it when authors take risks like that, and I think it mostly paid off here. It certainly made reading the book fun.

brillig

There are some commenters who really despise Xander for being true to form for a teenaged boy. Have they never known teenaged boys?

Amy - Feb 28, 2012 2:51:18 pm PST #8804 of 10458
Because books.

Rose Madder the Stephen King novel, Plei?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Maybe they do know teenaged boys and that's why they hate them. True to life doesn't ensure likeability.

Did you ever listen to the bit of the audio I emailed? I feel bad because you can't really drop into the middle and follow the story, but in the course of the series you can see (well, hear) him playing with the format. The first couple are pretty traditional, and then the scope expands, and there are experiments with narration, and the last one makes Memento look straightforward.
