Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!
Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.
True. I think the way she uses magic, though, constantly using it to fix her problems, often without taking other people into consideration, speaks to her Slytherin side.
I like Xander in Hufflepuff, though, since one of his most salient qualities is his loyalty. Although his bravery in going out into the fray without having any special powers is very Gryffindor.

But this is Season 3-5 Willow, not Season 1 or 2 Willow, yes?
Oh, yes. I was talking about Willow as a whole.
Isn't he making money off of never doing that?
Pretty much. Which has made him less interesting to me. I mean, props for making money off of it but I'm not interested in his reactions now. I am often only skimming Buffistas Read Mark Watches Buffy. I stopped reading his posts a while ago.
It's a shame browsers don't have a "change to sentence case" function.
I would pay for this feature.
Giles is Ravenclaw
Damn right he is.
t / is maybe a little over-invested in being sorted into Ravenclaw every time

That would be so useful.

That's weird to me. I don't think his posting style has changed at all since he was able to make blogging his full-time job. And it's not like he wasn't making money from ads and store things before. Like many other bloggers. I guess there's more suspicion of disingenuousness if you have financial investment in retaining readership? What about other professional bloggers?
No, I wasn't being disingenuous. I am genuinely pleased he is able to do this full time and that he has been making money for a while.
I just started reading his watching of Buffy "live" and it's not of interest to me. Previously I'd picked and chose things of his to read in bits. He works as snack reading for me.

I do go into professional (is that the word I want? Sponsored?) blogs knowing there is some level of advertising at play. It's not all F-150 on Alias levels, but if they are being paid, it's advertising. That's okay though. Gmail advertises to me as well.
So go him for doing something he seems to enjoy for a living. But his thing is not (and never has been beyond grazing) my cuppa.
No, I wasn't being disingenuous.
Oh, I didn't mean you were being disingenuous. I meant that people would suspect Mark of being disingenuous.

What about bloggers who aren't full-time but do make money from their blogging activities, either by advertising or selling merchandise?
I sort of get it, but then I start thinking about the fact that, well, money for art is a thing, can I not trust any artist who makes money? Is only the starving artist truly pure and honest and uncorrupted? Sometimes I think about these things, and sometimes I don't. I remember being a little wary when
The Guild
got a corporate sponsorship, but it didn't seem to affect the stories at all; they just got to look nicer and do bigger and better things, and, you know, more power to Felicia Day for being able to do what she loves. But other times I think, ah, I remember when you were funded solely by PayPal donations and your own cash, beholden only to yourselves!
I suspect Mark is either disingenuous or unable to form memories. Okay, there were a ton of less bitchy ways to put that. But that's the most succinct I could think of.
For me, I can't buy him still being *that* startled by everything that happens. Either it's a good persona to maintain, because it's his schtick and it draws a good crowd (why shouldn't he pay his rent?) or he really maintains what feels like a constant high level of naivete. Either way, not consistently interesting for me to read.
"beholden to no human cocksucker."
Sorry...couldn't resist, Sunil.
ita, wrod. Although occasionally, I wonder where he gets his drugs.
(metaphorically speaking)
