Buffy. NFA I kind of hated a lot.
I'd agree. Buffy S7 I found often tedious and lacking in sense, but the ending was a decent capstone. Angel S5 I largely enjoyed, but the ending from Fred's death onwards felt rushed.
'Objects In Space'
Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

Buffy s5, which I really consider the end of the show, OMWF notwithstanding. I mean, I even kind of like s6-7, but s5 feels like the logical end to me.
I adored the ending of Angel (although it seems I'm in a minority there). Buffy's ending had a bit too much deus ex machina for me. Angel reflected the reality of life - that you can't always win, but you keep fighting regardless. Plus it was a lovely two-fingers-up to the network for cancelling them.
Angel, somewhat because of what Seska said, plus that it was the perfect ending for it, IMHO.
Buffy's ending, while it was fitting to the theme of the show, felt too artificial. Much like the Victorian Era.
Between Buffy and Angel, which show do you think had the better ending?
Totally Angel. It just seemed so fitting and true.
I liked them both, but I give the edge to Angel because I thought the last scene was fabulous. Although I may not have felt that way at the time.
The Buffy series finale was worse than pretty much every other of its season finales.
Angel always seemed to have problems hitting its season endings, and the series finale was the best of the bunch, or maybe a close second to season 4.
Angel by a landslide.
By the time Chosen aired, I just didn't care anymore. I mainly wanted the show to be put out of its misery.
I'd have a much harder time choosing between The Gift and Home.
I think I'm in the clear minority of those who did not like "The Gift." I think that is the weakest season finale of Buffy. I definitely liked "Home" a whole lot more. One of my reasons for not liking the "The Gift" had to do with Dawn fatigue, but I am not sure I really liked the idea of Buffy self-sacrifice as the only resolution.

Pretty much that was my basic reason for not liking The Gift, but on a meta note, I loved that Joss was willing to kill off his main character. I mean, we knew that she would be back, but HOLY FUCKING SHIT.
