So, how was your summer? Mine was fun. Saw some fish. Went mad with hunger. Hallucinated a whole bunch.

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

Thanks, GC. I'm glad that you agree. Some posts at Whedonesque had me wondering if I imagined how annoying he was. And SMG was amazing. I had bought into the whole "she's a bitch and wants nothing to do with Buffy" thing since I have never seen her in person.

It was obvious last night that she loves Buffy. Completely and totally. And she simply couldn't be nicer and more adorable. She definitely won me over and that is really not an easy thing to do.

My theory on SMG's bad rap is that she treats her job as a job. She isn't necessarily interested in being BFF with other cast members, but she is pleasant and professional on-set. I could imagine that being perceived badly by other cast members who are looking to connect personally, but there isn't anything wrong with it. I may be way off base, but those are my impressions. She seems smart, funny, and totally gracious to me.

there's an adorable interview with SMG and SG from the "red carpet" of last night's event here. she completely agreed with my Buffy/Oz assesment.

I have heard that as well. She was called "standoffish" and "snobbish" because she didn't want to hang out with people.

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

Tamara...

It could be more along the lines that while she was in the middle of the show, all she could see was the negatives of it. Which created a negative impression of her amongst the fans.

Now that the show is over, it is easier to remember the positives of the show, such as not remembering Season Six as clearly. Plus, since SMG has left television the movie work (which her agents I am sure were pressuring her to take) has not been as successful, either critically or as commercially, as BtVS. A more positive current attitude towards BtVS may be her acknowledging how good she had it back then.

And, of course, this is me simply extrapolating. Maybe she has been replaced by a Skrull. (See Marvel Comics for joke)

The Sophia Crawford situation is the one thing that still pings me a bit about SMG (assurances being made that grudges were not being held against her over problems with her fiance, then Surprise! New stunt double in Season 5), but without having been on the lot there's no way to know exactly how that went down after Jeff Pruitt had his meltdown.

True, plus SMG doesn't do the hiring of the stunt double. If the producers didn't want her there, there wasn't much SMG could do but quit. As ugly at that situation got, it seemed like there was a lot of earth salting.

I was not at all involved in fandom and was a casual viewer of Buffy back when it was on the air. I know nothing, and really don't want to know, about the ins and outs of the rumor mill. The stuntman fiasco that I have heard bits about really doesn't interest me.

Just speaking from what I saw last night, everyone seemed very close to Sarah. Sarah spoke at length about season 6 and how it was so hard for her. She wasn't bitchy or petulant. She was just factual about her feelings and she seemed to be on the exact same page as Marti and Joss since they nodded along in agreement with everything she said.

Of course, season 6 is my absolute favorite and I think every part of it is brilliant so it was interesting to hear what was so disturbing for her, but it all seemed so genuine and out of concern for her character.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

This is the first I've heard about the stuntman fiasco
