Mal: Inara, think you could stoop to being on my arm? Inara: Will you wash it first?

'Heart Of Gold'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I'm glad I waited so long to watch it again. It really is like watching it for the first time. That same excitement. Makes me all fangurlie again.

What is even happening?

I have a theory song - the verse(s) after Anya's bunny rock-n-roll interlude.

Yes, that's right-- the "What Can't We Do If We're Together" part. I was disappointed that it was cut, because it seemed like a large part of the point.

Was Dawn's dance really cut? I thought it was left in--that is, I seem to remember that was part of the reason I was disappointed in what was cut.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I love that part - I hate that they cut it.

After Spike saves Buffy from self-combusting Dawn says "The hardest thing in this world is to live in it."

This, OTOH, I was happy to see gone.

Because books.

I only saw the cut version on UPN (sob) so when I heard this on the soundtrack I was confused at first. But I love it -- best part of the song.

And Ben, my 8-year-old, does Spike's, "So, you're not staying then?" every time when "Rest in Peace" is over on the CD. Very cute. Faux British accent and everything.

Trust my rage

Unfortunately, they left IN the Xander asspull, but I guess they couldn't have cut that out without reshoots

Which part was this?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Which part was this?

The fact that it was Xander who had caused the whole thing to happen. It was just soooo random, it's never made sense to me, and is the one thing I consider a serious flaw in the episode (I didn't mind Dawn's re-use of that line at all).

Trust my rage

Oh yeah, that was really stupid. If they had least shown Xander playing with the thing in the beginning, that would have helped.

Yeah. I didn't mind that it was Xander. I just thought since it was Xander, they executed it poorly. There should have been a little more set up, particularly since Xander's had his ass bitten by magics, before.

brillig

Once Xander knew people were dying of this, he'd have done something to stop it. Maybe not admitted it off hand, but he'd have been more worried.
