Which part was this?
The fact that it was Xander who had caused the whole thing to happen. It was just soooo random, it's never made sense to me, and is the one thing I consider a serious flaw in the episode (I didn't mind Dawn's re-use of that line at all).
Oh yeah, that was really stupid. If they had least shown Xander playing with the thing in the beginning, that would have helped.
Yeah. I didn't mind that it was Xander. I just thought since it was Xander, they executed it poorly. There should have been a little more set up, particularly since Xander's had his ass bitten by magics, before.
Once Xander knew people were dying of this, he'd have done something to stop it. Maybe not admitted it off hand, but he'd have been more worried.

Exactly. With his luck WRT magic he should have at least thought of himself as the culprit. The whole premise of summoning Sweet, though, was how did it happen? Did he just have to say a word or some rhyming verses over the amulet? His confession made it seem that he did it intentionally.

Well I will give them one thing - when Dawn steals it, if you look carefully, it looks like it has fallen out of Xander's tool belt and onto the counter. However this

was my big problem with it.
I'm willing to forgive the poor set-up and inconsistancies because, hey! Buffy Musical! (it kicks ass)
If they'd even devoted 2 minutes to some musical comedy genre-inspired wacky misunderstanding or cover-up where Xander realized his guilt I could have bought it. As it was, it seemed more as if Xander was lying about it on impulse to cover up for Dawn.
Too true. The original airing went 8 minutes long. Why not make it an even 10?
I just seems like such a last minute fix when the rest of the musical seemed so well planned and executed.
