Ah. Awesome, then. I have the first season of Angel, but never liked the remainder of the seasons enough to pay $40-$60 a pop. I also hate the fold-out versions, so this could be pretty cool.

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!
Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.
Oh, but I should mention also that they're not available immediately -- 4 to 6 weeks to ship. But $20, so.
yeah, i'm in no big hurry. i've done without them for this long.
ETA: thanks for the heads up, Strega!
Excellent! I still haven't cleaned my soggy copies, I think this will make replacement cost-effective.
Strega -- that's great, because I STILL haven't found the last disk for Season 2 of Buffy. I may need to get another set.

That is weird, because My last disc for Season Two aslo vanished completely into the ether. Of course, I have already purchased a second set.
As I was posting in bureau-blah-blah-blah tonight, I realized that my two really, true, favorite episodes (Intervention and Pangs) were both credited to Jane Espenson. And I was wondering if other people's favorite episodes were as non-Joss writer specific as that? I mean, sure I loved OMWF, Hush, The Body and Restless( I didn't really watch in real time until Restless so, Surprise, Innocence, etc have less impact for me than others watching in real time), but Intervention and Pangs, -- they felt like they couldn't be any better if they were written by an invisible person in my brain.
Well, Jane's my second favorite writer on BtVS after Joss and I think she's got the most distinctive style in that stable. Ultimate Drew and Tim both had really strong, distinctive writing voices too.
I'm sure Ple could parse the other writers, but those are the ones that stuck with me. Oh, and Fury.
The really nice thing about slimline cases vs. fold-out boxes? Less linear storage space, which means, room for more boxed sets!
Jane is the writer whose name I knew before I came to b.org and learned all the writers' name, because I liked her episodes enough to watch the credits and see who wrote them.
Well, it's not like I'd be TOSSING the original. . .
I decided to go ahead and get the Collector's Set, because I think it has extra, um, extras and ends up being $25 more than buying all the slim-lines, but I'm going with slim-line Angel for both cost-cutting and space saving reasons.
Thanks for the pointer, Strega!
