No. You're missing the point. The design of the thing is functional. The plan is not to shoot you. The plan is to get the girl. If there's no girl, then the plan, well, is like the room.

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

Art Crawl!!!

Yeah, I think that the FX reruns chop the show up too much. You lose the little things that make the show really great.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I'm rewatching Loyalty right now. I loves me some tortured Wesley.

So do I!

...Sorry. Anyway, I was actually just popping in to mention that Amazon has "slim line" DVDs of Angel & Buffy (and many other things, too) for $20 a season.

what's the difference between the regular sets and the "slim line" ones? because i was just about to use xmas money to buy the complete series box set, but i won't bother if i can get the remaining three seasons i need for $20 each.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

The discs are the same, tiggy. But rather than those big fold-out boxes, they come in the Firefly cases, I think.

Personally, I like the way the big fold-out boxes look next to each other on my shelf.

oooh! really? i hate those damn fold-out things! the centers always break and the dvds fall out and get scratched. annoys me to death.

I think i just found a use for my xmas money.

But don't the slim-lines have fewer extras?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Well, there was that woman in season 7. . . but really it was Cordy and then Anya.

I wouldn't call it dating, but there was Faith.

Everything I'm looking at on Amazon and other sites lists the same extras as the old version; I think it's just the packaging that's different.

Oh, but I should mention also that they're not available immediately -- 4 to 6 weeks to ship. But $20, so.

Ah. Awesome, then. I have the first season of Angel, but never liked the remainder of the seasons enough to pay $40-$60 a pop. I also hate the fold-out versions, so this could be pretty cool.
