Oh, smacked in the noggin with a 2x4 wrapped in velvet. Yeah, that's what it felt like.

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

It would have been interesting to have Owen show up as a season 5 or 6 throwaway vamping in a teaser.

Late the party on this, but it also would have been cool if it had been Owen who turned up as the chatty vamp in "Conversations with Dead People", much as I do like Holden.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

We watched "Earshot" last night, and we found ourselves thinking it would have been great if Freddy the newspaper guy came back.

when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

Extremely late to the NKABOTFD, but...I love the look on Angel's face when Buffy mutters "Bite me."! Mmm, juicy foreshadowing.

Also, I have irrational love for the old-school Gilesmobile.

What is even happening?

Also, I have irrational love for the old-school Gilesmobile.

Seeing it is almost as good as seeing the SHS library.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

*Sigh* Missed the watch-and-post. Again. Went ahead and watched it anyway.

One thing struck me on reflection; they could have gone much more conventional on the ending. Owen could have been freaked out by what happened and broken up with Buffy, which would have emphasized the "different=unloveable freak" equation for both Buffy and the audience.

This way, we see both Buffy's maturity, since she sees what she needs to do and does it, and that there's a reason Willow and Xander are on the team, and that she is, three episodes after the Harvest, fully on-board with being the Slayer.

Using a plot turn to illustrate character development - is that what they call good writing?

All this time, I thought Hunter was a bitch. Turns out she was just hungry.

That was fun. Thanks P-C.
