no one knows how badly they blew it . This is the first place where we really get the knowledge that they could fail. I Know they failed with Jesse, but this is a falure on the big picture scale

This was not one of my favorite episodes, but it has grown on me. It is one of those that gives the book feel to the show. I was never a harsh judge of a show , until the whole season played out- so i coud see where it fit in the book

This is the start of a lot of things, too... Cordelia setting sights on Angel, Angel being (wait for it....) cranky, and Buffy starting to feel alienated from people around her and drawing into the tiny Scooby group.

We watched Teacher's Pet and NKaBotFD the other day. The one thing that jumped out at me with Teacher's Pet is that Cordelia finds the body again. I want to know what happened with those egg sacks in TP and what happened to Owen after NKaBotFD. I think I have pretty much decided that he got himself killed or vamped anyway, because it is Sunnydale and if you're looking for trouble you're likely going to find it.

It would have been interesting to have Owen show up as a season 5 or 6 throwaway vamping in a teaser.
Buffy sees Owen and he sees her, the fall to chatting, he says "You know how after that night I wanted to go out and find adventure?"
"Yeah?" asks Buffy, apprehensively.
"Well, I found it." [Vamps out.]
Buffy just stakes him right there. "Story of my life." [Opening credits]
