Are we going to do the CW thing on the 17th?
You know, that'd be fun. A bit redundant, but when did that stop us? And it'd be cool to see old ads and/or promos.
Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

how could I forget again.... time to go watch
And it'd be cool to see old ads and/or promos. That's what I am looking forward to seeing.
Over at TVSquad.com, they've been reviewing old series over the summer. The review of the Angel S1 finale caught my eye, and then I hunted around 'til I confirmed they'd done the first season of BtVS, as well. Here are the reviews of: WTTH/TH: [link]
The next page [link] has reviews for The Witch through Prophecy Girl.
"gimme the Spielberg"
Since I didn't actually watch this last night, but someone did mention the non-dusty vamps? Perhaps this was reference to the lack of special effects?
Buffy SMART.
Also? What the heck does "gimme the Spielberg" mean?Who says this (and when)? I don't recognize the line, and can't find it in the transcripts or scripts.
eta
And Joyce saying no! Great line: "I know, if you don't go out, it will be the end of the world."I love that. It's a little anvillicious re the mission statement: "high school is hell," but in a good way, sort of like how sleeping with your boyfriend and him going all evil is heavy handed and yet perfect.
Gratuitous acrobatics, and a strangely non-dusting vamp.
They didn't have the money in the budget to poof all the vamps, at first. Legend has it the original Bronzers used to keep a running tally for each episode, figuring how much was spent on poofing. I used to know the figure-per-dusting, but it's gone, now.

Yeah, I'm with you there. I don't recognize that line at all, and I was fast-forwarding to catch up last night, so I don't even know what scene it was from.
Pity they left it in Pylea.
It did make a brief return engagement in "Carpe Noctem."
Exactly. Here's he sly, cynical, lazy, almost a tease. Which does not fit with the Angel who was supposed to have fallen in love with her back in L.A. and followed her to Sunnydale to "help" her.
At least they remembered he could do sarcasm well when the time came for the Evil Angel arc. This interpretation of the character was why I loved Angel from the very beginning, and was very slightly disappointed when he got all earnest in subsequent episodes.
I can't remember the context, but I wonder if "Gimme the Spielberg" is another way of saying, "Tell me the story."
It probably does mean something like that, but I can't for the life of me recall it, nor can I find record of it. The only Spielberg references I can think of in the series don't even include his name. There are a few
Jaws
shout-outs, and the like, the most memorable of which is probably Xander's, "We're gonna need a bigger boat," from GD I. Now I just need to know who says it in TH, and when. This time, it's personal.
