Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

'Underneath'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Now did you notice that Joss really treats the vamps more like zombies? All the horror in this ep is very zombie style.

Lots of lurking gangs of vamps slowly advancing as in a nightmare.

I can't even.

I love Xander's Rain of Toads obsession.

Mmmm. Joyce's hair is so admirably short.

Oops, I started watching into The Harvest. It's so tempting!

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

Oops, I started watching into The Harvest. It's so tempting!

I was wondering about that. One hour a week right? At least until we start Angel?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Hec, Hec, Hec, Hec, Hec. Put down the Harvest and step away from the TV.

(I skipped tonight, on account of having just watched last week.)

Buffy's already burdened by the responsibility from the get-go.

Yep. She is. 16, and wanting anything but the weight of the world on her shoulders, the poor dear.

It wasn't my fault! I couldn't find the DVDs and had to resort to emergency tapes! There's no break.

Let's see what folks think.

I'm open to hear different nights or different times scenarios.

My preference is to have a time that makes it at least possible for East and West and Central and Mountain zones to watch concurrently. That's something we didn't even have during the show's run when the East coast got to watch and post.

That may not be entirely feasible, but that's the ideal.

Who wants to pimp for a different night?

Ple, I think they cut Julie's hair to make her look more like SMG. Those bangs looked fresh.

My quick note about the Library was something I was thinking about before, after Ple's comments in her LJ about how they use the catwalk.

Just how much the set affected the tone of the show. I never loved all those scenes in Giles' apartment after they were out of high school. Not the scenes themself so much as just Not The Library. It was a sigh of relief when they did moved to the Magic Shop. But it still wasn't as good as the Library was.

Also, did you notice that they establish that the tunnel is an "electric access" tunnel, not a sewer? Eventually they do get into the sewers but that was a nice little workaround to get Buffy fighting underground without her wrinkling her nose constantly in disgust.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I guess they had to drop the bit about her being able to sense vampires, or else Angel wouldn't have been able to fool her.

perhaps she senses the lack of soul, and that's why she didn't know about Angel waves hand.
