Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

Thank you, Sumi! That was just what I needed! And thanks for the "Vampyr" book, Steph; I was blanking on that.
Ash talking about Doctor Who.
xposting CaBil's message in Jossverse because the implications might want to be discussed here.

Buffy Returns To Comics November 10, 2005 Joss Whedon has revealed that he will script the first four issues of a new Buffy the Vampire Slayer series for Dark Horse, and oversee subsequent issues. The book will take place after the end of Buffy and Angel, and as he put it in a post on Whedonesque.com, "be canon in the Buffy world." Whedon's story arc will place Buffy living in Italy with The Immortal.
Whedon also said that he's continuing to try to develop a Spike movie, but had no specific dates set.
I'm afraid my main reaction to that news is that I want closed canon, dammit! Closed!
I might feel differently if I were a comics person, of course.

Oh, I think your reaction is what I've heard most often among the Buffistas. I'm pretty sure it's the majority opinion (here at least - maybe in LJ-land).
Personally, I'm happy to see it go forward.

Feh.
I'm all for continuing canon, but that storyline left me pretty bitter and cranky. No desire to see more of it.
The time for closed canon would have been that smile at the end of "Chosen." I'm quite fine with something canonical being written so that the spinning wig from "The Girl in Question" isn't our last glimpse of Buffy.
What Jess Said.
