It's good to have cargo. Makes us a target for every other scavenger out there, though, but sometimes that's fun too.

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

brillig

Ooh, and also from "City Of...": "Can you fly?"

Oh, yeah . . .

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Angel visiting Faith in prison.

Ahhh, yeah, that was a great and surprising little continuity callback that set up so much later.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Has anybody noticed that they are releasing this:

[link]

it claims to be "the darkest Buffy eps", and says its

The coldest, darkest, most terrifying conquests of Buffy the Vampire Slayer are captured in this special 2-disk collection. Watch, at the edge of your seat, as Buffy triumphs over the most evil forces she faced in 7 years of conquering the vampires in Sunnyvale.

"The Pack" (from season 1)
"Halloween" (from season 2) "Passion" (from season 2) "The Wish" (from season 3) "Helpless" (from season 3) "Fear Itself" (from season 4) "Hush" (from season 4) "Same Time, Same Place" (from season 7)

Discuss.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

...Huh. Do you think the people who put that together actually ever watched Buffy?

Heh. Considering they called it "Sunnyvale," I'd say no.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Good collection of eps, but most of them really need context. (Hush and Halloween will work on their own, but Passion? The Wish, maybe, but if you have no idea what the characters are like normally, the AU thing's not going to have much impact.)

I'd hoped someone would catch that. Heh.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Good collection of eps, but most of them really need context.

Also, both of the Halloween episodes lean towards the funny rather than the scary. "Fear, Itself" has a few good jump moments, but any show with Sombrero!Giles (now with chainsaw action), Bunny-suit!Anya, and Actual-size!demon is not especially dark. And I'd consider it the scarier of the two.

Because books.

Anybody remember in which episode Spike tells Riley that Buffy likes a little monster in her man? Anybody remember the exact quote?

The demon eggs episode. When Riley comes back with his wife. Some time in S6. Was it "As You Were"?

Nope. The interbunny tells me it was S5, "Into the Woods," and the quote was "The girl needs some monster in her man... and that's not in your nature... no matter how low you try to go."
