I've read a couple of Kathy Reichs' books on Temperance Brennan. They're pretty good, so hopefully the show will follow suit.

Well, that's a shame. The books are pretty decent. Not great, but entertaining. Reichs does go on at length on some of the forensics/science stuff that I tend to skim, but the character development is good and Temperance is a likeable, smart lead.
