Loyalty:
Most astute observation of the ep was: "Wesley if you overthink this prophecy it's going to be self-fulfilling" followed by "Wesley no!" and "Wesley do not DO NOT kidnap Angel's baby" at about five minute intervals.
The burger loa was enjoyed by all.
(Also enjoyed by all: the tiny hockey sticks and the baby sized "Connor" jersey. These shows really did influence all other television forever, huh.)
We're on Season 4 and having a great time. Rose's favorite character is Spike and so naturally "Pangs" followed by "Something Blue" was just delightful. Spike tied to the chair, pierced by numerous arrows and absolutely over it, will never not be funny. And tonight is "Hush"! I'm eager to see if she picks up on the Willow/Tara vibes right away.
and UGGGGGH I'm glad they're still somehow unspoiled but it's going to be be devastating in a few more episodes and I don't know how to handle it.)
Ooof!
(They also said offhand "Spike needs to learn that no means no" after he talked Buffy into having sex with him against a tree
Also, oof!
You might need a whole sidebar on the Kittenboard and the Dead Lesbian Trope.
Last night was the double-whammy of
Hell's Bells
and
Sleep Tight,
so Aeryn is pretty damn pissed at both Xander and Wesley today for being stupid dummies who make bad choices. (They've been wanting Xander and Anya to break up for AGES, but wanted it to be Anya's choice.)
(You guys I'm so excited for Teenage Connor to show up in a few eps.)
I am so enjoying Aeryn having such correct opinions about everything!
Oh god you guys....at dinner tonight Aeryn said "Everyone is having a terrible time. Except for Willow and Tara! Lesbians, always winning."
I don't want to make them watch Seeing Red. It's going to be so awful. But here we go.
Oh that is going to be so painful.
As expected, that was horrible and painful to watch. I'd honestly forgotten how much of that episode is joyful reconciliation, and how needlessly
cruel
this episode is in that regard.
Aeryn wants Willow to kill Warren, so at least we know that payoff is coming!
(And Spike's off to get a soul, tra la la.)
AtS, OTOH, has finally gifted us with the woobie to end all woobies, my most precious of precious babies, Teen Connor. Welcome back, Connor, and thank you for solving the ever-present problem of "how do we move the plot forward without the inconvenience of having a baby on set all the time."
I absolutely love reading Aeryn's thoughts on Buffy and Angel. Thanks for that.
