Okay, now I'm wanting to rewatch.
Book ,'Objects In Space'
Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!
Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.
Aeryn was pretty upset about Kendra, but did clock that there might be another new Slayer called now.
In the scene where Angel first sees Buffy in LA, they were skeptical that Angel would know how to drive (which...yeah, there's no plausible explanation for when/why/how he would have learned that from living in squalor in Manhattan for almost a century.
(I'm now picturing a deleted training montage of Whistler taking Angel out to a parking lot in New Jersey every night and patiently explaining to him which pedal does what and how to follow traffic signals on the highway)
(Spike knowing how to drive is less mysterious because (a) Spike canonically likes stuff that's in the world - of course he would want a cool car and (b) driving is a lot easier if you can't die and don't care if you kill anyone else.)
I quote "I can't wait to tell all my friends, they don't have a rock this big" ALL THE TIME and finally, my references will be appreciated by all members of the household.
I'd imagine Angel had learned to drive at least by the time he was doing his James Dean cosplay in 1950s Los Angeles. Remember, we later learned that it wasn't one continuous rat-catching sulk from being cursed by the Romani to 1997. He had periods of greater interaction with society, then something would happen to make him hit bottom again. Lather, rinse, repeat.
I just want to draw pink sparkly hearts around all the Aeryn-watching-Buffy reports! I gave my niecphews DVD for the first season or two when they were in high school but I didn't get to watch with them

Fair point, I had forgotten about that. In my defense, I had just re-listened to DB's pathetic attempt at an Irish accent a few scenes earlier and was still reeling a bit.
You guys. YOU GUYS.
So we have started S3 (excellent, no notes) and after the ep is over it came up that I only have the DVDs through S5, and this child says to me "Well, does season 5 end on a cliffhanger?"
To which I said....wow, that's a complicated question.
And then they said... very sarcastically... "Haha, this time Buffy dies for real!"
I'm almost positive they're not spoiled and testing me. Almost.
and this child says to me "Well, does season 5 end on a cliffhanger?"
Also, notably, it was at the S5 finale party at her apartment where I met JZ.
Really enjoying the Aeryn watch and post.
Wait a minute...has she seen Farscape?
Wait a minute...has she seen Farscape?
Yes, we did a Farscape family watch a couple of years ago.
Are you going to mix in Angel ?
Of course! Which means I have a lot of DVDs to buy (or hope that both series come back to a streaming service I have by the time we get to S4/S1).
