20 years since the beginning of Buffy means 20 years since my mother died. And since she died at the end of January 1997 - she never lived during the Buffy era.
Even though I came to it late, I attribute some of my obsession for the show on it coming while I was still processing my mother's death.
Cindy, that was very cool! But because I'm one of us I have to nitpick: It's "wanna-blessed-be".
Thank you and thanks for the heads up, chris (corrected).
did no one say Double Meat Palace for worst ep?
I don't have the energy to search through all the threads, but I've said so. And still believe so. That stretch of S6 was pretty hard watching.

Yes, I can remember us watching real time and looking forward to new episodes, and then the disappointment and lack of satisfaction. Sigh.
Oh yeah: it was first after a hiatus wasn't it?
It's like they really wanted us to FEEL the gray period Buffy was in.
In retrospect I think a lot of Season 6 was technically well-written, but it was such an unpleasant slog to actually go through. Bleak and dark movies have more latitude because they're over in two hours; watching your lead character sink further into depression over the course of weeks is very off-putting.
I just used "and Ben is Glory" in a political post today. Waiting for "WTF?" tweets to arrive...and some likes.
