I'm sorry, dad. You know I would never have tried to save River's life if I had known there was a dinner party at risk.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

They've said several times that silver doesn't work on him

I completely missed that. I thought he was just sunlight proof. So what does kill him?

I think the silver knife is bogus anyway. Way too easy. Is silver a standard part of vampire killer lore? I associate it with werewolves mostly.

Oh, that would be so mean.

Also, Colin! Welcome.

I hesitate to admit that my computer is down again... mostly I hesitate because it's my fault. Did you know that the latest Microsoft service pack doesn't play well with all laptops? Yeah, neither did I. Hello, O/S restart. Anyway, the point of all that was... how excited was I to see more than 200 posts in Boxed Set? Thiiiiiiiiiiiiiis excited. That was fun to catch up on.

I enjoyed Sateda for the cool action video with fun character moments that it was. I adored Carson cowboying up at the end!

Insiders had Ba'als, so that was happy making. I honestly thought Sam was pulling a fakeout somehow with the planet addresses. Ah, well.

well, there is some stuff about how since silver is a "pure" metal, it's harmful to vampires. It doesn't kill them, it just hurts them.

I'm confused by the Blade mythology. Not Hex!confused, but unclear nonetheless.

Oh. I'm so sad. I'm going to miss the thread turnover.

Unless everyone gets chatty... looks hopeful

It doesn't seem to be terribly consistent. Again, we are spoiled by Joss. The Blade target audience is more about blood, cool fights and sexy chicks than plot.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Cliff Simon, who plays Ba'al, is going to be at DragonCon. I plan to walk by him a few times and marvel at how stunning he is in person.

Jealous.

What channel is Blade on? I've seen nothing about it.

ETA: I'll be embarrassed if the answer is Sci-fi.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

You also have to make him talk, I think, to get the full effect.
