Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Yikes. Hi Colin, bye Colin.
I don't get any sort of resemblance to Profit. Not even close.
My guess is that someone's jumping the gun after seeing Greenwalt's name in the credits.
Perhaps Greenwalt's name in the credits IS the resemblance.
I have the big Profit love, but I don't see that level of lovely wrongness in Eureka (yet).
I was kept away from the television last night by family stuff. They claimed it was hot and they insisted on going out on the tvless boat to go swimming. Silly family. Couldn't wait for Thursday repeat showing so, ahem, I'll watch it tonight.
Can't wait. Lotsa Henry and positive critical review here is making the wait tough. Restraining myself and holding off on the podcast until after I watch.
Welcome Colin!
I bet he doesn't even have any ita dirt and is a big ole taunter
Hey I'm back.
So we got 2.1. A 7% increase over last week. That's great for us.
Oh, and "pumpkin" refers to the remifications of the child labour laws. We only get to work Jordan for 9 hours before she goes "bye bye"... or turns into a pumpkin. She can work until 10:30 om during the week and midnight on weekends. And 3 of her 9 hours has to be school.
Hence the 18 year olds getting the parts over real age kids.
Her turning into a pumpkin is sort of what it feels like when they pull the plug while you're shooting. The air goes out of the building, she says goodbye and then I do the rest of the scene to a piece of tape stuck to a stand.
Hey Colin! I just finished watching the first episode, and I really enjoyed it. I don't suppose you have any idea why it's called A Town Called Eureka over here (Britain) and just plain Eureka for you guys, do you?
Also, yay on the ratings! Here's hoping we get to keep watching...
I DO actually!
I ran into Ben at comic con. He represents SKY in the US and he says that the BBC already has a science show called Eureka and they didn't want any confusion. So they changed it.
I know I don't type well all the time. Apologies. (ramifications, have, and others)
Hi Colin!
So, when you're walking around inside S.A.R.A.H., is there someone offside actually reading the lines as your house? Or are you just talking to the ether?
edited to add: I should have started by saying that I've been enjoying the show, and I've gotten my 66 year-old mother hooked too, so we're crossing demographics for you.
He represents SKY in the US and he says that the BBC already has a science show called Eureka and they didn't want any confusion.
Ah! And sense is made! Although I don't think I've ever heard of that science show.
(Apologizes for bad spelling: definitely Our Kind of Person.)

I know actors have to do this a lot these days, but the stories never cease to make me crack up. Scrappy tells of this one thing she got to look at, where it was Lorenzo Lamas shooting balefully at something, and cut to the something, and the unfinished effect was a bunch of incredibly bored grips hanging a tennis ball. Or was it a cardboard cut-out of a dinosaur? Anyway, it was Lorenzo Lamas looking baleful, which is the funny part.
(The finished product did have CGI dinosaurs.)
