Oh, don't worry about it. I only heard about it third-hand, but the traffic was BEYOND beyond insane that weekend -- same reason Kevin Smith showed up 6 hours late and missed his Q&A. (They did let him go on after Spidey 3, but I don't know if they announced it to anyone who wasn't already in Hall H at that point.)
Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Holy shit. That is terrible. I'm so glad that GF and I take the hit and stay close by. We were at the Marriot (not the one next to the con, but one in the Gaslamp about 2 blocks away). We usually stay in the Hilton across the street but we were too late getting a room there. Where did you guys stay?
We were at the Marriot in Mission Valley. Everywhere closer was sold out of the Con-rate rooms within a few hours. (And is it just me, or does SD have roughly twelve bajillion Marriots? They were like Starbucks!)
Yeah, there are like a million Marriots. And you're right about the rooms selling out quickly. Lucky for me GF keeps on top of this and is calling within minutes of the rooms opening up. What was your best item from the con (promo or otherwise)? For us, it was a Love and Rockets page purchased from Gilbert Hernandez for $200!! Score!
I didn't buy very much, actually -- a couple of t-shirts and some Nighmare Before Christmas figurines. (All on sunday, which made them nice and cheap!) The Pan's Labyrinth poster was probably the best swag. That movie looks amazing.
Sanford And Son
t late to the party
Good lord! They Americanized Stepford and Son?
Good LORD!!!
Sounds like the SciFic party was fun, Jessica. I am made of envy of all of you folks who made it to Comiccon.
How many people have the Sanford and Son theme song running through their heads now?
As performed by J.D. and Turk?
As performed by J.D. and Turk?
Yup, that did it.
Sanford and Son was a classic series! "Fred Sanford. 'S-A-N-F-O-R-D-period.'" IIRC, it was the first one to feature a majority black cast.
ETA: Fay, wasn't it "Steptoe and Son"?
Wasn't Chico and the Man ALSO an adaptation of Steptoe and Son?
