Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
They have to have an arc about something.
why? why can't it just be episodic television?
Actually, it's probably just as well, because I was already getting a bit tired of the world's best psychotherapist. And I'd already assumed she drugged the Marshall when he fell asleep on her, so I wasn't a bit surprised when she killed whiny wife.
yeah, she had to keep him from asking who "they" were.
Jessica, whenever you're around - was the BSG teaser one of the one's you saw at the presentation?
Don't know - I didn't watch last night.
I thought that Matt Frewer was being wasted. I was hoping he would be a scientist more like his "Doctor Doctor" character.
I thought I was the only one who ever saw "Doctor Doctor"! I too hoped he would be more like that guy. Oh, well, maybe they'll go for more character development and less quirk in future eps.
I did enjoy Joe Morton, who I've always been a big fan of and have wondered why he's never taken off as a big star. He's much more fun to watch than just about anyone else in the show, except that Colin does have great potential, if they write better stuff for his character (that tired "workaholic dad with rebellious daughter" schtick is just too cliche, iMO).
I'm definitely going to track down that BSG promo again and watch it in slo-mo.
I'd love to see Matt Frewer being more Edison Carter and less crazy person. I am unreasonably fond of anyone who was on Max Headroom.

yes, this. I love his character. I want him to fix something in my house! :)
Well, yes. So is John Barrowman, who I hope at least gets mentioned in that article. Cause, you know. Gay off- and onscreen.
Yes, he was mentioned. Article was just about sci-fi characters that gay boys & girls love. Apollo being one for the boys and Starbuck for the girls. They had a side-bar article that made me feel like a totally stereotypical lesbian as it listed the gay girls faves, all of whom are my own (Xena, Scully, and 7 of 9). Interestingly, I don't include Starbuck in there. I like the character well enough but she doesn't ping me that way. Roslin, on the other hand... hehehehehehe.

Oh, okay. It's just... you know. I don't actually read
Out
, but they do an awful lot of the putting of the sexy straight people on the cover, and it seemed a shame not to use an actual gay sci fi actor who plays an actual non-straight sci fi character. But my actual level of caring is so low as to barely move the caring needle off its rest, which I note b/c on reread my last post came off bitchy.

I think Starbuck is the hottest female character to ever hot, narrowly out-hotting Faith, but I do have to admit to fanning myself whenever Roslin gets all ruthless. She is one hell of a woman.

For some reason, Out never puts people who are actually gay on the cover. I mean, I think it's happened once or twice, but I think it was an accident.

Precisely
my thought. Yes. And SGA's all-boy snog should have got mentioned too (and you could always add that Hewitt's played the Big Gay Love in movies before). But mostly John Barrowman, because
Captain Jack!!!!!
I was thinking that they need to do a Numb3rs crossover because it would be neat to see Greg Germann and Peter MacNicol as dueling astrophysicists
Oooh!
And now I need to see
Eureka.
Somehow. Um. I guess it'll be ahemable once it's airing, yes? Probably?
...I heart Peter MacNicol SO much. Just sat through ten minutes of Ali McBeal in the hopeful expectation of him, and was delighted by his scene. Promptly switched off, though, because the show does my head in. But MacNicol rocks, and Germann's very watchable.
