Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
And I'm not quite sure why Matt Frewer needed to have an accent.
That threw me, too, but it was good to see him again. So many good geeky actors in the cast.
I was thinking that they need to do a Numb3rs crossover because it would be neat to see Greg Germann and Peter MacNicol as dueling astrophysicists.
Yes!!!
Is Greg Germann the nefarious lab guy? He looked so familiar and yet. . . where did I see him before?
(And clearly they should X-Over with Alias -- they've got MILLIONS of Rambaldi devices and somesort of espionage thing going on.)

Yup. He and MacNicol also used to run a law firm in Boston.
The only thing is that the promo makes it look like they are bringing in someone else to run the facility for future episodes, so I don't know if he'll still be around.
Huh. It looks like I didn't like it as much as the rest of you.
I thought the comic timing was so far off to be non-existent. Maybe that was due to
all the tachyons that were in the vicinity.
Even the straight dialog was weird. It was if the actors were just reading their lines instead of playing off of each other.
I thought that Matt Frewer was being wasted. I was hoping he would be a scientist more like his "Doctor Doctor" character.
I thought there was a lot of room for improvement, Tom, though I think I still liked it more than you seem to have. I want to see how things progress in the series and if things gel better than they did in the pilot.

I think that they were trying to do a Crocodile Hunter thing. It didn't work for me. Probably because I HATE HATE HATE the crocodile hunter. I was so excited when I saw his name in the credits, and so disappointed in the character.

trying to raise the sexual tension between colin and sallie, I suspect.

Oh, YES. I love Tony
I gotta say that I'm not crazy about the random subplot of Something Evil in Eureka.
Oh, no; I think a lot of the comedy was telegraphed and overplayed. And occasionally pony express-ed. But like I said, all the clunkiness seemed like pilot clunkiness. The stuff that happens when you're trying to sell something to a network and an audience simultaneously.

They have to have an arc about something. Actually, it's probably just as well, because I was already getting a bit tired of the world's best psychotherapist. And I'd already assumed she drugged the Marshall when he fell asleep on her, so I wasn't a bit surprised when she killed whiny wife.

Ep3 is so much better. Really.
(And hoo boy, if you thought this was piloty, just wait for Heroes. They take expository pilotspeak to a whole new level. But then some really cool things happen in the last couple of minutes, so it ends up being okay.)

why? why can't it just be episodic television?

yeah, she had to keep him from asking who "they" were.
