I have the EW that has an apparently good review of the show. I do have to say it's not dark, but I'll have to read the Globe to find out why it needs to be.
Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

They do, but it's little more than a capsule review. Still, the Globe critic sounded willfully curmudgeon-ish. I'm still looking forward to checking it out.
I like Matthew Gilbert a lot. His daily capsule reviews always make me laugh and I agree with him way more often than I disagree. Let's hope he's either off the mark this time, or else that the show grows.
I will say that it's much funnier than the trailers have made it out to be. Something about the timing is off, or maybe that kind of dry wit just doesn't compress well into a 30-second spot.
Short version: too cutely quirky; not dark enough. Ehh. We'll see if it stays that way.
can't be too dark in the promo, unless that's your schtick.

No, but the review was based on the 2-hr pilot. I was just summing up what the Globe guy said about the show.
Okay, I thought that the Dresden Files were premiering in January. But this story says "this summer."
Oh, I didn't realize the pilot was two hours. Must fix the VCR timer. Also. I have my computer back, and it WORKS!!!!
Colin does not look like he's been punched in the face!
Man, I'm really responding to the core of these articles, aren't I?
Welcome back to the land of the conveniently computered, JenP!
