A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
It's like an extra-bizarre portmanteau of Jack O'Neill/Sam Carter! It gives me deep wrong feelings in my chest.
However, Colin is very cute and I'm sure I'll be over it as soon as he starts shooting some bad guy wearing a well-fitting black T-shirt or something.
No, Vonnie, not a protmanteau, he's the love-child product of their one night together before he died a noble and heroic death, leaving her to raise little Jack all by herself--well, actually, with significant help from Daniel and Teal'c, but that's getting into Full House land, and we want to remain in the land of Teh Drama.
I'm overthinking this, aren't I?
I bet the child calls them Uncle Daniel and Uncle Teal'c.
Also, the Jack/Sam love-child thing has some merit because that means he was born with an innate ability to wear a thigh-holster and handle a P-90 with style. Well, obviously not when he was a baby, but... you know what I mean.
The idea of Daniel and Teal'c in a sitcom land makes me laugh and laugh.
An ability which first manifests in his prowess with a Super Soaker as a toddler.
the name Jack Carter
I have to interject -- you know, Colin even kinda looks like (a young) Michael Caine. That was the name of the titular character in
Get Carter,
the awesomest mod revenge-picture Britain ever produced.
In summary, it's not just Hollywood that needs a new name. I think we'd all be just as happy with a slew of Bob Chandlers and Dave Coopers and Jimmy Shipwrights.
What ever happened to the Franks? There used to be Franks and Joes and Ricks and Davids on television. Now they're all Jack.
CarterBauerONeillBristowSheppard. Sigh.
Also: Jack Malone from Without a Trace and Jack Sparrow from PotC. Seriously, they are like whack-a-moles.
Hey, at least Joss and Tim tried to name everyone some variation of William for a while.
The idea of Daniel and Teal'c in a sitcom land makes me laugh and laugh.
Teal'c is made for sitcoms. (Daniel, not so much. Daniel is possibly made for primetime soaps, though.)
