Yes. Lucky for you, people may be in danger.

Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Hm. I had the impression that while Davies was credited for many good things about the show, his actual scripts were the weakest by far.

Although the complaints I've seen about Davies are very similar to my complaints about Whedon, so maybe it's a good comparison after all.

If I only had a brain...

It isn't so much a matter of threads as it is of inconsistent characterization. One episode ends with two characters on serious outs, and in the next they are completely chummy. A character will be stupid and clingy one episode, independent and resourceful the next.

As I said, they needed somebody saying "Willow wouldn't DO that" and "But Cordelia dissed Angel two episodes ago; why's he going to her now?"

[Actually, I said that somewhere else, not here. Whoops.]

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I will give CE major props, if for nothing else, then for being utterly broken by Rose's death in a way that I didn't even get from the Buffy cast in The Gift.

And there were more (and so stellar) Moments (in the way of Buffy) than, I think, even in the Becoming 2-parter, between the funny of the reality shows and the Annedroid zapping the Daleks, and then Rose dying, the prison break-out, Jack figuring it out, OMGWTF Dalek, The Doctor's speech to the Daleks, the forcefield, Jack's speech to the humans, The Doctor sending Rose back, the big sweeping Bad Wolf shot and her scene with Mickey, Jack dying, Rose Ex Machina, the kiss (oh! All 3 of them, actually.), and OMGWTFRegeneration. And never has there been more speechifying.

Not to mention the bigness of the Dalek religion, in the "concept" slot.

Art Crawl!!!

I think I'm allowing my bitterness at any British show that compares itself to Buffy to poison my enjoyment of Who.

I think to clean out my palette I should start a personal BVTS marathon.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I think Russell T. Davies has expressed an admiration for BtVS, and aspires to Buffy storytelling.

It's others that compare.

Yup. RTD is a Joss fanboy.

Ever fired your gun in the air and yelled, 'Aaaaaaah?'

Holy Shit Picard + techno + Sims = Greatest thing ever.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Picard + techno + Sims = Greatest thing ever.
Yeah, but watching the dancing Worf has made me gay.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The Sci Fi Eureka site is up. There's wallpaper. There are AIM icons. This is way funnier than Coupling.

Doctor Who S 2 ep 10 (10? Already?!): Lovely episode. The blond bloke from Hustle stole the show, with excellent support from Moaning Myrtle. It made me laugh and then it made me cry.

Oh, and there were definite echoes of the X-files theme on the soundtrack this week, makes me think the music quotes must be deliberate.
