I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Oh, god, not Jude the Obscure.

Not even for Christopher Eccleton.

I'm with Dana. Not even for Eccleston. Jude the Obscure is slit-your-wrists territory.

ptooie, we shall speak no more of Hardy.

If I only had a brain...

You can get Eccleston and Ewan McGregor in "The Shallow Grave", also not cheery.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Shallow Grave is a rollicking good time! It doesn't make me want to slit my wrists even a little bit.

Casanova was what convinced my of David Tennant's acting chops. In the last (of three) episodes, he manages to convey ageing without makeup - just in his body language alone. Of course, he also grows up into Peter O'Toole, which can only be a good thing.

The mini-series of Casanova was also written by Russell T. Davies, just to make it even more of a Who-taster. The first two parts are a real blast, the third is much more downbeat, but it's certainly worth a look.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Jude, the Obscure--OMG, was that him?

Not like I'd ever watch it again, or anything, but yeah, wow. Range. And stuff.

Note that PBS will be running Casanova this year on Masterpiece Theatre.
