Sooner or later, you're gonna want it. And the second — the second — that happens, you know I'll be there. I'll slip in, have myself a real good day.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Brrrrr—"The Empty Child" was tres creepy. I'm sort of sad that this show is so relentlessly [pseudo]science-based, as I'm sure they're going to explain it as runaway nanites that imprinted on the first person they encountered or somesuch. It'd be better if there was room for the supernatural/unknown and the nature of the contagion was never explained at all.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Not telling

With Doctor Who, it's more about the story than the science. It was orignally meant to be a children's show, but they do write for adults as well. Even moreso wth the current seasons.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

If by "children's show", you mean "show that scares the pants off children while making them life-long fans of the show"...

All is well that ends in pizza.

Well, that's the result....

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

It's not proper Doctor Who if the the single digit age crowd ain't hiding behind the sofa.

Our wings are not tired.

My Bobby (11) loved last night's show. He does love the scary though.

I've been enjoying the early years but I didn't get a children's show vibe at all. The balance of scary, goofy, and wierd science seems about the same ratio as the newer stuff. It's a mix I enjoy.

All is well that ends in pizza.

The british are wacky. They've classified it as a children's show since day one, and still do.

ETA; It's the mix that has made it worth watching for generations of adults around the world.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Gud: I spoke with Kathy A today. She doesn't have internet at home and she wanted me to let you know that her cable got hooked up early. She thanks you for the offer of the Dr. Who DVD, but she'll catch in on the teevee.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

That was fucking creepy. I knew this was a good ep, but I didn't know how creepy it was going to be. I have no idea if I'll be able to sleep without wierdo, creepy dreams. ( DH agrees. and he is further weirded out because I am swearing). Damn good, but just before bedtime ... not a good time to watch The Empty Child.

The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances were the definite highpoint of Series 1 for me.

Anyone else see S2 Ep4 yesterday? Spoilerfont: Strange episode, not really sure what I think. Will definitely have to rewatch. My reaction is probably affected by the news that I believe Sylvia Miles is currently dating David Tennant IRL. Oh, and the Doctor is Vulcan! Who knew?

On edit: funnily enough, both The Empty Child and S2 Ep 4 were written by Steven Moffat. So that explains the references and quotes they share .
