'War Stories'

Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

That idea of Kirk and Spock at the academy has been floating around for a very long time, so you can't blame it on Abrams.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Please somebody help me. In following up a discussion of the SGA ep "Inferno" I tried to read through an interview with Brandy Ledford. I wanted to find out what she had to say about the regular actors, but I think my brain started hemorhaging around the time I got to:

A long time ago, before I became a Christian, I was a model. I modeled with people who were very interested in science fiction. That started me reading Isaac Asimov. I was quite young and often not really with it at the time. I didn't really understand it, but it fascinated me.

I think Freddy Quimby should walk out of here a free hotel

Is it the randomness of her thoughts that's bugging?

And the general cluelessness, like not understanding which show the interviewer was asking her about despite him telling her several times.

Oh. I thought she was referring to some Christian/model/Asimov trifecta I was ignorant of. Well, not really but I was hoping.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

It's potheads like her that make me ashamed to identify as Christian. Ya know, cuz the ultra-cons aren't really that bad.

If I only had a brain...

I grew up in the Midwest, where it is rude and creepy to talk about your religion in public beyond the occasional mentions of Christmas and Easter. I'm trying to overcome that now, and to identify myself when it's appropriate; if the only people who call themselves Christians in public are the far right, that allows them to take over what Christianity means.

However, if I ever ask any of you if you've heard the Good News, please shoot me.

To be fair, she wasn't talking about her religion in a proselytizing way, although I'm puzzled about why exactly she did mention it. Maybe her particular church regards modeling as a sin?

If I only had a brain...

That's what I'm guessing. Sort of like "A long time before, before I became a Christian, I went dancing."

Art Crawl!!!

I was looking up the Witchblade people to see what they're up to and Eric Etebari and Anthony Cistaro are both in a movie called The Dreamless which is in production.
