A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Ah but these are Fiction
glasses.
They are not subject to the normal laws of
glasses-wearing.
Also,
so many more people in TV and movies are long-sighted than short-sighted because it's more effective dramatically. IRL it's the other way around.
I'll be interested to see if they keep the use even vaguely consistant.
I suppose if you can
simultaneously see the past and the future, you can always figure out where you put your glasses. Although if you see all possible pasts, you're stuck like the rest of us with: Could I have put them on the control board of the TARDIS? In the Wardrobe Room? On top of my adorably ruffled hair?
The tricky part is that
they'd be in all of those places. Plus, if it were me, I'd abuse the TARDIS like mad, always going back 20 minutes for whatever I forgot, and that can't be good for the universe.
Zap2it has an interview with Katee Sackhoff that is spoilery for season 3 of BSB. I must say that you would think that
Hec was a script consultant on the show given that
one of the plot points has
Starbuck getting her haircut
much like
Natalie Portman in "V"
.
I think that the Doctor has almost no fine control of the TARDIS -- note that he dropped Rose off a year after she'd vanished, while intending to drop her off the next day. So blipping back 10 minutes to avoid a traffic ticket? Not so much.
If he had fine control, the show would have a very different tone.
Never said I'd succeed -- but it's not like that would stop me from trying.
but it's not like that would stop me from trying.
It might, eventually...
(Conversations like this are why everyone needs to go and rent Primer and watch it right now.)
I have to confess I did rent it and fell asleep before the end. What was up with the other guy using their machine?
Yeah. If the Doctor had perfect control of the TARDIS, he'd be omnipotent, and it would all be very boring.
Although it might leave him more time for dancing. IJS.
I fear that if I had a TARDIS I'd be very Gallifreyan about it: I'm just here as a tourist, don't mind me, not gonna interfere. Ooh, look at the pretty dresses!
