"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

The best part is when the screen-critters make noise, or obscure subtitles or setting information. Like, hello! You don't make the doink-doink noise on Law & Order and then not tell us where and when!!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Have I already expressed my rage over the blahblahblah they do over the end music of Dr. Who? In that the opening credits don't last long enough, so let me hear the damn music or die bloody and SCREAMING!!!!!!

Why, yes, I think I have.

If I only had a brain...

Not to mention that they now shrink it so small that you can't read the credits at all.

I'd spent the whole show thinking "Damn, where have I seen that Dickens actor before?" No joy from Sci-Fi. IMDB told me that it was the mighty Simon Callow, familiar to many from "Four Weddings And A Funeral".

Art Crawl!!!

I hate not being able to read the credits -- particularly bad in British shows where they don't run opening credits. (Why don't they?)

"The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be."

Brits really hate casting spoilers.

Art Crawl!!!

Yeah, but lots of the shows on BBCA don't even credit their regulars.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

They probably have different union rules.

Isn't this the first time they've had any actors in the credits for a Dr. Who show? I know it surprised me the first time I saw the credits for Rose and had "Christopher Eccleston" AND "Billie Piper" comin' at me in Important 3-D(ish) Font. That and the music gave me such a fun shiver up the back.

I *thought* that the credits used to have the name of whoever was playing the Doctor, but I could be wrong. I haven't seen an episode of the original series in... (out of fingers error) years.

Yeah, it's been pretty long for me too. I just can't remember seeing "Tom Baker" or "Peter Davison" or "John Pertwee" when I was watching it. It may just be that the credits were all like the writer credit on the show is now, and not flashy like the actors.
