Oh my god. What can it be? We're all doomed! Who's flying this thing!? Oh right, that would be me. Back to work.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

it doesn't hold up that well anymore. Red filters everywhere!

I think I noticed the red filters at the time. Haven't rewatched, though. RoS was the first show that got me thinking so hard about it when it wasn't on. I'd have been neck-deep in the fandom if I'd known how to find it. I need to buy those DVDs.

I only remember the second Robin, and I think everyone preferred the first one. Nothing holds a candle to Maid Marion and her Merry Men though, of course.

I was so fucking besotted. That having been said, I did like the second one, and didn't react as if a shark had been jumped. But, DAMN. Michael fucking Praed. He then went to seed, but judging from the Mile High I saw a little ago, has gotten back on the pretty track.

Michael Praed was pretty and intense enough, but my favorites were probably Will and Nasir. Both of whom (Ray Winstone and Mark Ryan) have gone on to relatively successful careers, as well.

ita, what I think you'll notice most clearly is the editing and the fight sequences. We've just been spoiled in the last 20 years as those have gotten tighter and tighter, and more and more polished looking. RoS really suffers by comparison, although for the time I expect they were pretty good. Also, I still love how dirty everyone was.

I was so impressed they went the way they did with the first Robin, and then got to use the other legend of Robin's origins to introduce Robert of Huntingdon. It was smart thinking on their part.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Oh, Michael Praed. *wistful sigh*

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

That was my point, Matt. Sarah Jane is more of an agent than Tegan. I was saying that it's more satisfying to see somebody who goes out and does things.

Sorry Betsy, I misunderstood—I thought you were citing Tegan as a companion willing to challenge the Doctor and disagree with him, less meek than Sarah Jane. Which is true from a personality standpoint, but we definitely agree that Sarah Jane was the more effective of the two.

Yes! I was so excited by that, even in my fiction-grieving. I was wandering around chirping about the cleverness for what was probably an irritatingly long time.

Still, I was in high school. Perfectly appropriate.

Ray Winstone has probably done the best of the cast, I think--I barely associate him with the show anymore. I did catch Jason Connery in Smallville and one of the Wishmaster movies, and I did laugh nigh unto crying.

If I only had a brain...

Michael *sob* Praed.

Right up there on the inducing-puberty-on-the-spot list.
