Y'all have moved on to Dr. Who, but I'm still bouncing over New Robin Hood! Eeeeee!
I wonder if it'll be good? I'll watch it regardless, I must admit.
'Trash'
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

The new Robin Hood makes me mostly feel sad about Robin of Sherwood. I may squee more closer to the time.
Why, why, WHY are there only 5 Third Doctor episodes on DVD? *weeps*.
I heard that "Inferno," the alternate-Earth ep with the 3rd Doctor and Liz, and creepy Mirror!Brigadier, is coming out on DVD later this year in the UK and possibly here as well.
It's my favorite Pertwee-era ep, so I'm definitely looking forward to it!

That sounds sensible, although I admit that, after rewatching some Robin of Sherwood, it doesn't hold up that well anymore. Red filters everywhere!
I still love Ray Winstone, though.

I think I noticed the red filters at the time. Haven't rewatched, though. RoS was the first show that got me thinking so hard about it when it wasn't on. I'd have been neck-deep in the fandom if I'd known how to find it. I need to buy those DVDs.
I only remember the second Robin, and I think everyone preferred the first one. Nothing holds a candle to Maid Marion and her Merry Men though, of course.

I was so fucking besotted. That having been said, I did like the second one, and didn't react as if a shark had been jumped. But, DAMN. Michael fucking Praed. He then went to seed, but judging from the Mile High I saw a little ago, has gotten back on the pretty track.
Michael Praed was pretty and intense enough, but my favorites were probably Will and Nasir. Both of whom (Ray Winstone and Mark Ryan) have gone on to relatively successful careers, as well.
ita, what I think you'll notice most clearly is the editing and the fight sequences. We've just been spoiled in the last 20 years as those have gotten tighter and tighter, and more and more polished looking. RoS really suffers by comparison, although for the time I expect they were pretty good. Also, I still love how dirty everyone was.

I was so impressed they went the way they did with the first Robin, and then got to use the other legend of Robin's origins to introduce Robert of Huntingdon. It was smart thinking on their part.
Oh, Michael Praed. *wistful sigh*
